Front Porch Design

The right front porch design can turn a lousy looking structure into home sweet home in little time. This home improvement project added to your summer list of things to do will reap great benefits. My cousin bought a new home last year. Actually, he bought an old, run down shack that no one else would touch. We all thought that he was crazy and some of us warned him that he was making a bad investment. He is a construction worker, though and when he said that he knew what he was doing we didnt press the issue.

His first step to recreating his house was to start making a front porch design for the structure. I am an artist so he had me draw some rough sketches from his dictation. He then put the drawings to work. I made sure to add a little gingerbread details here and there to the front porch designs just because I love the traditional look and intricate details.

After only two weeks he asked me to stop over to check his progress. I had trouble recognizing the house. The front porch design that he put into action completely transformed the structure. The house looked brand new. It looked bigger and it looked very inviting.

The house looked so spectacular that I drove right by it certain that I had made a mistake. I knew that I was on the right road but I just could not believe that it was the same house. I also didnt recognize the various front porch designs I drew myself because he blended them together to make a unique final product.

After a trip around his neighborhood I finally realized that I was, in fact, on the right road. This was my cousins awful house that I pleaded with him to pass up. I just hated the idea that he was going to waste his money on a bad investment.

Nothing could have been further from the truth. The front porch design actually raised the value of his home. He sold that house for much, much more than he paid for it. I pleaded with him not to sell but he said that he knew what he was doing.
